Universal Testing Machine 600kN (Multi Wire Steel Strand) used for the mechanics property test such as the tensile, bending, compression, etc to various metallic and non-metallic materials. The testers have been developed according to BS EN 10002-1, ISO 7500-1 & ASTM A370 “Metal Tensile Test Method” with the adoption of the electro-hydraulic servo control and electronic measurement. It can automatically process the test result for statistical purposes and print default or user-defined test reports.

Universal Testing Machine 600kN uses the micro-computer automatic data collection and processing, real-time display of the test data and curves. It has functions such as unlimited storage of test results in the computer, printing the test results and curves, processing the batch test result report, managing the database, and so on. It also has a network interface. It can automatically seek the multiple technical parameters such as elastic module E upper yield strength ReH, lower yield strength REL, stipulated non-proportional elongation intensity Rr, tensile strength Rm, stipulated total elongation intensity Rt, yield point percentage elongation, etc.

Test Procedure of Universal Testing Machine (Multi Wire Steel Strand) 600kN Electro-Hydraulic Servo Control

  1. Specimen Preparation: Prepare the multi-wire steel strand specimen according to relevant standards such as ASTM A1061/A or BS 5896, ensuring proper dimensions and alignment. Remove any surface irregularities or defects that could affect test results.
  2. Machine Setup: Ensure the UTM is properly calibrated and configured for the test. Set up the machine to apply tension to the multi-wire steel strand specimen.
  3. Grip Installation: Install appropriate grips or fixtures on the UTM to securely hold the multi-wire steel strand specimen. Ensure the grips are aligned with the specimen to prevent slippage during testing.
  4. Pre-Test Inspection: Conduct a visual inspection of the specimen and grips to ensure they are free from any defects or damage. Verify that all connections and safety features of the UTM are functioning properly.
  5. Test Parameter Setup: Set testing parameters on the UTM control panel or software interface, including test type (tensile, compression), test speed, and any applicable force or displacement limits. Input the maximum force limit based on the UTM's 600kN capacity.
  6. Specimen Mounting: Carefully mount the multi-wire steel strand specimen in the grips, ensuring proper alignment and equal distribution of force.
  7. Initiate Test: Start the test through the UTM control panel or software interface. Monitor the test as it progresses, observing any fluctuations or irregularities in force or displacement.
  8. Data Collection: During the test, the UTM will record data such as applied force and elongation. Ensure that the data collection system is functioning correctly and capturing accurate measurements throughout the test.
  9. Test Completion: End the test once the specimen fails or when reaching the predefined force or displacement limits. Stop the UTM through the control panel and carefully remove the specimen from the grips.
  10. Results Analysis: Analyze the collected data to determine the mechanical properties of the multi-wire steel strand specimen, such as tensile strength, yield strength, and elongation. Compare the results with relevant standards or specifications to assess compliance.
  11. Reporting: Prepare a comprehensive test report documenting the procedure, specimen details, testing parameters, results, and any relevant observations or conclusions. Include graphs or charts illustrating the test data and results for clarity.
